How To Ship Fragile Paper Items
Based on experience of buying dozens of pieces of artwork on Ebay (posters, lithos, photos, etc.), I decided to make the fact that all the artwork I received was well packaged, until recently. Contrary to popular belief, insuring a package doesn't guarantee you are protected against damaged. The shipper will deny the claim if they deem the item wasn't properly protected considering the contents. A photo bent that was shipped in a paper envelope or fine china shipped in a box with no padding is obviously going to get denied. I had purchased similar items to this recent one that all came packaged in heavy duty cardboard envelopes or inside or sandwiched between two (free) shipping boxes.
